Hottest Lighting Trends for Spring 2025

We’re already more than a quarter of the way through 2025 (where is the time going?), moving into one of my personal favorite months of the year: April! The changing of the seasons always brings a sense of renewal—a fresh, clean start—and updating your lighting can play a huge role in giving any space a new look.

Here are the best lighting trends of 2025 to give you some inspiration during your Spring season.

1. Warm, Earthy Tones

Say goodbye to harsh whites and cool blues. This Spring, lighting is embracing warmer, more natural tones. Think soft ambers, warm whites, and golden hues. These colors help create a welcoming atmosphere and can make a space feel grounded and relaxed. This trend is all about bringing a little bit of nature inside. The goal is to mimic the warmth and softness of natural sunlight, which is perfect for those longer, sunnier spring days.

2. Bold, Statement Lamps

If you’ve been keeping up with design trends outside of lighting, you’ll know that maximalist, statement decor  continues to dominate the industry. While many consider lighting to be purely functional, this season we are watching people lean into using lighting as an integral choice that enhances mood, creates ambiance, and accentuates other design features within a space. Maximalist lighting is all about going big, bold, and playful. To get a jump on this trend, I suggest you go for lamps with natural materials like wood, unexpected textures, or avant-garde silhouettes. You can top off these lamps with some of Sunco’s statement bulbs for an added bit of elegance.

3. Artistic Sconces

If any lighting trend could be considered timeless, it’s this one. Wall sconces are a great way to add ambiance and functionality to any space. Plus, they give you an excuse to throw in some of your personality by using pops of color or specific styles that speak more directly to your taste. Sunco houses a handful of fun sconces—many of which are renter friendly.

4. Mid-Century Reboot

This trend comes in and out of focus every so often, but it seems that 2025 is the year it comes back in full swing. Mid-century modern lighting design is a style that emerged in the mid-20th century, characterized by its use of clean lines, simple forms, and a focus on function over frills. This aesthetic focuses on geometric shapes and the use of materials like glass, metal, and plastic.  You can incorporate mid-century modern through a few simple fixture changes, or even by introducing recessed lighting to your space.

5. Rattan Lighting

Spring is all about connecting with nature, and this year, it seems that the classic, outdoorsy rattan style is on its way to the top. Made from natural materials, these lights often have a relaxed, organic feel that’s perfect for springtime. Many of these designs are also made with sustainability in mind, using eco-friendly materials that support a more environmentally conscious lifestyle. It’s the perfect way to invite nature into your home while maintaining a stylish, modern look.

Final Thoughts

As we step into Spring, we can see that upcoming lighting trends are focused on creating warm, welcoming spaces that feel connected to nature while embracing clean, bold designs. If you want to get a jump on your favorite interior design influencers this year, you can use this as a sneak peek at what’s trending. Happy Spring!
