Sharing Sunco’s Wins of 2025 and Beyond

I’ve always been a fan of reflecting on the past year at the end of December. In fact, when I was a teen, I would write down the good or really funny things that had happened throughout the year on slips of paper and put them in a jar. At the end of the year, on New Years Eve, I would dump out the jar and read all of the slips and remember all of those happy memories. It always surprised me how many of those memories I’d have forgotten about over the months until that moment of reminiscing.

This year, I want to do something kind of like that, but for Sunco as a whole.

Looking Back

Before we dive into our big plans for the new year, I think it would be valuable to take a moment to look at what we accomplished in 2025. It’s been an incredible year of growth, innovation, and, of course, making the world a little bit brighter one fixture at a time.

“We’re proud of the strides we made in 2025,” said Swan Lee, Director of Marketing at Sunco Lighting. “Not just in terms of product innovation, but also in how we’re building a stronger connection with our customers. Our focus has always been on quality, sustainability, and making life just a little easier for our buyers. We’re excited to carry that momentum into 2026.”

Expanded Product Line

2025 was all about expansion for Sunco. We’ve solidified our position as a leader in the lighting industry by rolling out a bunch of new products—I’m talking, nearly 400 new SKUs. From smart LED technology to outdoor lighting solutions that stand up to the elements, Sunco’s 2025 product line truly had it all. We wanted to make it easier for customers to find lighting that fits their space, their budget, and their expectations.

But we didn’t just throw a bunch of random products onto our website and call it a day—we actively looked for ways to make our existing product line, and anything moving through Sunco hands, better through rigorous testing and quality control.

“In 2025, we raised our standards across the board and refined our testing methods, but we also expedited our product documentation process,” one of our skilled product engineers, Edwin Chu shared. “That means clearer and more accurate manuals delivered faster so that customers spend less time guessing and installing products correctly.”

Faster Shipping

Another major focus this year was shipping. We know lighting is often part of a larger project timeline, and delays can cause real headaches. In 2025, we made meaningful improvements to our logistics and fulfillment processes, resulting in better shipping times across the board. Orders moved faster, tracking became more reliable, and customers could count on their lighting arriving when they needed it.

Sleek New Look

Beyond updates from a company standpoint, Sunco spent a lot of time this past year really honing in on our brand as a whole. We’ve made major changes to the design and function of sunco.com to make navigating our website easier, more efficient, and let’s me honest, more stylish. You’ll see more of those changes in the future as we eventually expect to do a full overhaul in the future to improve customer experience both on our website and amazon storefront.

Challenges

Of course, 2025 was not without its challenges. Like many companies, Sunco faced the impact of the tariffs that affected costs throughout the supply chain. Our VP of Operations, Abraham Kwan shared his insight on how Sunco was able to pull through such a pivotal time in the eCommerce vertical.

“We chose not to pass tariff costs on to customers,” he said. “In many cases, we even lowered our prices. We believe [Sunco] has an important part to play to address this supply chain crisis. If we do our jobs well, prices will go down, and quality will go up. This year was important proof to ourselves that we could execute on that mission in the most volatile of moments.”

By optimizing sourcing strategies, improving operational efficiencies, and strengthening relationships with our partners, we were able to absorb and offset much of the impact. This allowed us to maintain competitive pricing while continuing to deliver fast and dependable service. It was not always easy, but it reinforced something we believe in strongly. Our customers come first, even when the market gets complicated.

Looking to the Future

As we turn our attention to 2026, momentum is only growing. Product expansion will continue to be a top priority. We are already working with new vendors and on new designs that push our catalogue even further. The goal is to stay ahead of trends while continuing to offer reliable, practical lighting that our customers can trust.

When asked what excites our VP of Operations the most about what we’re setting in motion for 2026, he had this to say:

“There's so much to be excited about! Our team has a unique pulse on the important work happening in the infrastructure and built environment space in the US. We hope to do our part to do research and share our findings to help ground policy and discourse.

Without giving away any surprises, a key theme Sunco is pressing on is driving down the cost to build or renovate in America. We're looking forward to doing our part by making it easier than ever for electrical contractors to be successful, from small residential jobs to the largest of commercial projects.”

Final Thoughts

At the heart of everything we do, both in 2025 and looking ahead to 2026, is a simple idea. We want to make lighting better. Better products, better service, better experiences. This past year showed us what is possible when we listen closely, adapt quickly, and stay focused on what matters most. As we step into 2026, we are excited, motivated, and ready to keep raising the bar.

Thank you for being part of the Sunco journey. The future is bright, and we cannot wait to light the way forward together.
